Lost a Pet? Found a Pet?

Let’s Help Get Them Home

Few things are more stressful than realizing your pet is missing or finding an animal that may belong to someone else. ACSKC receives lost and found reports regularly, and we understand how emotional these situations can be for both pets and people.

The resources below can help guide you through the next steps, whether you are searching for a missing pet or helping reunite a found animal with their family.

Leave a legacy for Kent County’s animals

A planned gift to the Animal Care Shelter for Kent County (ACSKC) ensures we can continue providing adoptions, veterinary care, humane education, and lost-and-found services for generations to come.

WAYS TO GIVE

You can include ACSKC in your legacy plans through:

  • Naming ACSKC in your Will or Living Trust

  • Designating ACSKC as a beneficiary of a retirement account or life insurance policy

  • Establishing a charitable gift annuity or charitable remainder trust

  • Making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA (if age 70½ or older). QCDs allow you to donate up to $100,000 per year directly from your IRA to ACSKC, tax-free. If you’re 73 or older, this also counts toward your required minimum distribution.

If you’ve included ACSKC in your plans, please contact Richard Keaveney at rkeaveney@acskc.org to ensure your wishes are honored.

Why It Matters

A legacy gift reduces taxes for your estate and ensures that 100% of your retirement assets go directly to helping animals. It’s a meaningful way to make your values part of your legacy.
