Out and About with ACSKC
The Animal Care Shelter for Kent County participates in and hosts events throughout the year that support animal welfare and strengthen our community connections. From adoption events and fundraisers to local festivals and outreach opportunities, each appearance allows us to share our mission, connect with supporters, and advocate for the animals in our care. We look forward to seeing you out in the community.
UPCOMING EVENTS:
2026 Petparazzi Challenge
Registration Begins July 11, 2026
Does your pet have what it takes to steal the spotlight? Enter the 2026 Petparazzi Challenge and let your friends and family vote for their favorite furry star!
The top six pets will earn a place of honor in the Animal Care Shelter for Kent County lobby, where their portraits will be displayed for an entire year before returning home with their families. The pet receiving the most votes will also be crowned our 2026 Petparazzi Champion and take home this year's grand prize.
Every photo entry and every vote helps provide food, shelter, and medical care for the homeless animals at ACSKC, making this one of our favorite fundraisers of the year.

Crazy Days Hot Dog Fundraiser
July 23–25, 2026 | High Street, Chestertown
Join us during Chestertown's Crazy Days for one of our favorite summer traditions! Stop by our hot dog stand on High Street and enjoy a delicious lunch while supporting the dogs and cats at the Animal Care Shelter for Kent County.
Every purchase helps provide lifesaving care for the hundreds of animals who come through our doors each year. Whether you're shopping, strolling through downtown, or simply craving a hot dog, we'd love to see you!
Let’s Work Together!
The Animal Care Shelter for Kent County is proud to participate in a wide range of community events throughout the year. Whether you are organizing a festival, school program, corporate gathering, fundraiser, or local celebration, our team may be able to attend in a variety of ways — including bringing adoptable animals (when appropriate), providing educational outreach, sharing community resources, hosting an informational booth, or partnering in creative ways to support animal welfare.
If you are interested in having ACSKC involved in your event, please contact Hailey Hickman, Marketing and Development Coordinator, at hhickman@acskc.org or 410-778-3648 ext. 1008 to discuss the details.
